The best AI help desk on published price is HubSpot Service Hub, whose customer agent charges $0.50 per resolution, 1st in the per-resolved-conversation group of the AI price per outcome leaderboard. Help Scout follows at $0.75 per resolution on any paid plan, Gorgias charges $0.90 per resolved conversation on annual billing, then Intercom and eDesk at $0.99 per outcome. This list covers eleven help desks and ranks them by AI price per resolved conversation, with ties broken by native channel coverage. Prices are list prices as of 8 October 2026.

Jira Service Management at $1.00 and Zendesk at $1.50 complete the ranked group. LiveChat and Freshdesk follow in their own unit groups, and Front and Zoho Desk close the list unranked, because neither publishes an AI price per unit.

How this list is ranked

Prices come from the October 2026 AI price run. The ranked group holds per-resolution and per-outcome prices where the help desk charges at most once per conversation and nothing when the AI cannot answer, lowest first. Intercom and eDesk tie at $0.99, and Intercom ranks ahead on native channels, seven to five.

A pack of resolutions and a session are different units, so LiveChat and Freshdesk each sit in a group of their own after the ranked prices. The order between those groups is not a price comparison. Vendors with no per-unit price come last and are never shown as zero. The unit rules are on the testing method page.

1

HubSpot Service Hub

$0.50/resolution Messaging channel; voice (beta) billed per minute

the lowest AI price per resolution among help desks

HubSpot's customer agent charges $0.50 per resolved conversation, 1st in the per-resolved-conversation group of the AI price leaderboard. It runs on Service Hub Professional or Enterprise and is paid in HubSpot Credits, 50 credits per resolution. Professional includes 10,000 credits a month, enough for 200 resolutions if no other AI feature draws on them. A resolution means the conversation was not handed to a human for 72 hours. HubSpot describes the agent as resolving customer inquiries across email and live chat around the clock.

Watch for: The low AI rate sits on the highest 25-agent seat price on the leaderboard: $27,000 a year on Professional with annual billing.

2

LiveChat

$49.50/50 resolutions 10-200 resolutions included per month by plan

chat-led help desks that want AI resolutions in prepaid packs

LiveChat sells AI resolutions in packs of 50 for $49.50, which works out to $0.99 each, on Essential and Growth. Essential includes 10 AI resolutions a month and Growth 200. One resolution means the AI solved the customer's question, and several questions in one chat still count as one. The pack format places LiveChat in its own bundle group on the AI price leaderboard. Essential costs $19 per user a month on annual billing, $5,700 a year for 25 agents.

Watch for: Enterprise AI usage is agreed in a custom offer, so only Essential and Growth carry a published pack price.

3

Freshdesk

$0.49/session Sold as $49 per 100 sessions; 500 sessions included on Growth

Freshdesk teams that want AI on email and chat with a free starting allowance

Freshdesk charges $49 per 100 Freddy AI Agent sessions, $0.49 each, on Growth, Pro and Enterprise for Freshdesk and Freshdesk Omni. A session covers 24 hours of chat or 72 hours from a customer's first email, and it is billed whether or not the AI resolves the request. That puts Freshdesk in a per-session group, apart from per-resolution prices. The first 500 sessions are free once per account, and packs expire with the payment cycle. Omni Growth costs $29 per agent a month on annual billing.

Watch for: Sessions bill on unresolved conversations too, so the $0.49 cannot be set against a per-resolution price.

4

Help Scout

$0.75/resolution

small and mid-size help desks that want AI on any paid plan

Help Scout's AI Answers costs $0.75 per resolution, 2nd in the per-resolved-conversation group, and it can be added to Standard, Plus or Pro. One charge covers a conversation even if AI Answers replies to several questions in it. There is no charge if the customer escalates, searches the knowledge base, asks more questions or says they need more help. New accounts get a free trial of AI Answers, and a monthly spending cap can be set. Standard costs $25 per user a month on annual billing.

Watch for: Standard caps at 25 users, so a larger team pays Plus or Pro seat prices before the AI line.

5

Gorgias

$0.90/automated interaction Billed only when the AI resolves a conversation. Annual billing (Basic and Pro); monthly billing $1.00

Shopify help desks that want AI interactions bundled into each plan

Gorgias puts AI Agent on every plan and charges only when it resolves a conversation: $1.00 per automated interaction on monthly billing and $0.90 on annual billing for Basic and Pro. Because it bills only resolved conversations, it ranks in the per-resolved-conversation group, joint 3rd on the leaderboard at the annual rate. Plans include 30, 190 or 530 automated interactions a month depending on tier. Gorgias states that it powers customer conversations for 40% of Shopify brands. Its help desk is priced by ticket volume, so it has no seat figure.

Watch for: Gorgias publishes no overage rate for interactions past the plan allotment.

6

Intercom

$0.99/outcome

chat-first help desks where the AI agent takes the first line

Intercom's Fin costs $0.99 per outcome, level on price with eDesk and ahead of it here on channel coverage, seven native channels to five. An outcome is a resolution, a procedure handoff, a disqualification or a self-serve routing, at most one per conversation, and nothing is charged if Fin cannot answer. Fin works on every Intercom plan and on other help desks, where a 50-outcome monthly minimum applies. Essential seats cost $19 a month on annual billing. Fin Voice costs $1.99 per outcome through sales.

Watch for: Fin charges for handoffs and routings as well as resolutions, so an outcome count is larger than a resolution count.

7

eDesk

$0.99/outcome Once per ticket regardless of reply count

ecommerce help desks that want AI included on every plan

eDesk includes its AI Agent on every plan and charges $0.99 per outcome, once per ticket. An outcome is the AI answering the customer or taking a real action on their behalf, and nothing is charged when it does neither. eDesk positions itself as support for ecommerce, with Essential at $39 per user a month on annual billing covering one online store or marketplace. Its AI claims any language, without a count. eDesk holds 4.5 on G2 from 80 reviews.

Watch for: eDesk bills an outcome when the AI answers or takes an action, a different event from a resolution at HubSpot or Zendesk.

8

Jira Service Management

$1.00/AI agent resolution

Atlassian service desks that want AI with no allowance to track

Jira Service Management charges $1.00 per AI agent resolution, with no minimum and no included allowance, on Service Collection Standard, Premium and Enterprise. A resolution counts when the AI agent handles an inquiry end to end without escalating to a human, assessed after 24 hours of inactivity. Teams can pay as they go or buy prepaid or annual committed packs. Standard has the lowest 25-agent seat figure on the leaderboard, $5,650 a year on annual billing. Atlassian sells a separate virtual service agent for employee self-service.

Watch for: With no included allowance, the first AI resolution of each month is billed at $1.00.

9

Zendesk

$1.50/automated resolution Committed rate (100+ bought ahead); pay-as-you-go $2.00; 5-10 resolutions included per agent per month

help desks that want included AI resolutions before paying per unit

Zendesk includes 5 automated resolutions per agent a month on Support Team and Suite Team and 10 on Suite Professional, capped at 10,000 a year. Beyond that it charges $1.50 per automated resolution on committed volume of 100 or more, or $2.00 pay as you go. A resolution is counted once per conversation, only when the AI agent resolves the request without escalation. Suite Team costs $55 per agent a month on annual billing. Zendesk's AI agents include Forethought AI agents by Zendesk.

Watch for: Zendesk introduced resolution tiers on 18 May 2026 without publishing their prices; the pricing page still shows one rate.

Front

Quote only

B2B help desks that will negotiate the AI price

Not ranked on AI price per outcome. Front's Autopilot AI agent is quote only: Front publishes a starting figure with a call to sales and does not define the billable conversation. Autopilot is an add-on to Starter, Professional or Enterprise. Front counts eight native channels, and Professional costs $65 per seat a month on annual billing. It holds 4.7 on G2 from 2,515 reviews.

Watch for: With only a starting figure and an undefined unit, Front's AI cost cannot be compared until sales quotes it.

Zoho Desk

No published price

help desks that want AI included without a published per-resolution meter

Not ranked on AI price per outcome. Zoho Desk publishes no per-resolution, per-outcome or per-conversation AI price; Zia comes with an included token allowance on Express and higher plans. Zia Agent Studio builds AI agents, and the Zia Answer bot lists 30 languages. Zoho Desk counts nine native channels, joint 2nd on the channel coverage leaderboard. It holds 4.4 on G2 from 7,983 reviews.

Watch for: Zoho Desk's seat prices vary by region and its US list price is unsettled for this run, so it is unranked on seat cost as well.

The seat column is the 25-agent figure from the seat-cost leaderboard, on the cheapest plan with email and live chat. HubSpot pairs the lowest AI price with the highest seat figure. Jira Service Management has the lowest seat figure, and Intercom and LiveChat share the next, so for a team with modest AI volume the seat line decides the bill.

What each help desk counts as a resolution

HubSpot counts a resolution when the conversation is not handed to a human for 72 hours. Jira Service Management waits for 24 hours of inactivity. Help Scout drops the charge if the customer searches the knowledge base or asks for more help. Zendesk checks the conversation when it ends. Intercom and eDesk bill events that are wider than a resolution. The resolution rate guide sets these definitions side by side, and the customer service metrics guide covers what a team can measure on its own data once the AI is live.

Picking by team

  • Teams on HubSpot CRM: the customer agent at $0.50, once on Professional.
  • Small and mid-size teams: Help Scout’s AI Answers on any paid plan. The help desk software for small business list ranks the seat side for five agents.
  • Chat-first software companies: Intercom’s Fin, compared with Zendesk in Zendesk vs Intercom, with more options in the Intercom alternatives list.
  • Ecommerce sellers: eDesk, or Gorgias for Shopify stores.
  • Atlassian service desks: Jira Service Management at $1.00, with no minimum.
  • Large multichannel teams: Zendesk, with included resolutions on Suite Team and Suite Professional. The Zendesk alternatives list ranks the help desks around it.

The short answer

HubSpot has the cheapest AI help desk resolution at $0.50, and Help Scout is 2nd at $0.75 with no plan restriction. Intercom is the pick for chat-first teams at $0.99 per outcome, and Zendesk for teams that want a monthly allowance of included resolutions. AI-native agents that sit on top of a help desk are ranked in the AI customer service software list.
