The best AI customer service software on published price is HubSpot’s customer agent at $0.50 per resolution, 1st in the per-resolved-conversation group of the AI price per outcome leaderboard. Help Scout follows at $0.75, Lorikeet charges $0.90 on its Scale plan, as does Gorgias on annual billing, and Intercom and eDesk share $0.99. This list covers twelve vendors and ranks them by AI price per outcome inside that group, the largest set of prices charged at most once per conversation and never when the AI cannot answer, with ties broken by native channel coverage. Prices are list prices as of 8 October 2026.

Salesforce and Freshdesk come next, each in its own unit group, because a conversation and a session are different things to pay for. Ada, Decagon and Sierra publish no AI price; they close the list unranked, with their channel and language coverage.

How this list is ranked

Every price comes from the October 2026 AI price run, with each vendor’s unit definition printed beside it. The ranked group holds prices per resolution or per outcome where the vendor charges at most one unit per conversation and nothing when the AI cannot answer. Inside that group, lower is better, and each vendor ranks on its lowest published rate: Lorikeet on its Scale plan at $0.90, Zendesk on its committed rate at $1.50. Intercom ties eDesk at $0.99 and ranks ahead on native channels, seven to five.

Prices in a different unit never share a rank with that group. Salesforce and Freshdesk follow in their own groups, and the order between groups is not a price comparison. Vendors with no published price come last and are never shown as zero. The rules for units, minimums and platform fees are set out on the testing method page.

1

HubSpot Service Hub

$0.50/resolution Messaging channel; voice (beta) billed per minute

the lowest published price per resolved conversation

HubSpot's customer agent costs $0.50 per resolution on messaging, paid as 50 HubSpot Credits at $0.010 each, 1st in the per-resolved-conversation group of the AI price leaderboard. A resolution means the agent gave support and the conversation was not handed to a human for 72 hours; qualifying a lead also counts. The agent needs Service Hub Professional or Enterprise, and Professional includes 10,000 credits a month, enough for 200 resolutions if nothing else uses them. At 2,000 resolutions a month the meter comes to $1,000 before those included credits. Voice is priced separately at $0.50 per minute, in beta.

Watch for: Credits are shared across every HubSpot AI feature, and Professional costs $90 per seat a month on annual billing before any AI use.

2

Salesforce Service Cloud

$2.00/conversation

enterprises already running Service Cloud that want consumption pricing

Agentforce costs $2 per conversation, which sits in its own per-conversation group on the AI price leaderboard. Salesforce labels the same $2 both 'Conversations' and 'Help Agent Resolutions', and it does not define what ends a billable conversation. The other route is Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000, with each Agentforce action drawing 20 credits, which works out to $0.10 an action. At 2,000 conversations a month the conversation meter comes to $4,000. Service Cloud counts three native channels and holds 4.4 on G2 from 8,436 reviews.

Watch for: Salesforce marks its Agentforce price list as information only, subject to change, and points buyers to a sales representative for detailed pricing.

3

Freshdesk

$0.49/session Sold as $49 per 100 sessions; 500 sessions included on Growth

Freshdesk teams that want AI on chat and email at a fixed pack price

Freshdesk sells Freddy AI Agent sessions in packs of 100 for $49, or $0.49 a session, on Growth, Pro and Enterprise. A session is a 24-hour window on chat or a 72-hour window on email, billed whether or not the AI resolves the request, which places it in a per-session group with Freshchat. Packs expire with the payment cycle, and the first 500 sessions are free once per account. Freshdesk lists 60 or more languages and counts seven native channels. It holds 4.4 on G2 from 3,777 reviews.

Watch for: A session is a time window, so the $0.49 price cannot be set against another vendor's per-resolution rate.

4

Help Scout

$0.75/resolution

email-led teams that want a low resolution price on any paid plan

Help Scout's AI Answers costs $0.75 per resolution, 2nd in the per-resolved-conversation group. One resolution is charged per conversation, even when AI Answers responds to several questions in it. A conversation counts only if the customer gets an AI response and does not escalate, search the knowledge base, ask more questions or say they need more help. AI Answers is an add-on to any paid plan (Standard, Plus or Pro), and a monthly spending cap can be set. At 2,000 resolutions a month the bill is $1,500, before seats.

Watch for: Help Scout publishes no AI language count, so a multilingual team has no stated figure to plan around.

5

Lorikeet

$0.90/resolution Scale plan (chat/email/SMS); Start $0.99; voice $1.20-$1.50; plus $2,100-$5,100/month platform fee

regulated businesses with steady ticket volume that can carry a platform fee

Lorikeet charges $0.90 per resolved chat, email or SMS ticket on its Scale plan and $0.99 on Start, with voice resolutions at $1.20 and $1.50. At the Scale rate it is 3rd in the per-resolved-conversation group. Unresolved tickets and escalations to a person cost nothing. Every plan also carries a platform fee, $2,100 a month on Start and $5,100 on Scale, paid annually. Start is aimed at businesses under 5,000 tickets a month and Scale at 5,000 to 20,000. Lorikeet focuses on complex and regulated businesses such as fintech and healthtech, and counts seven native channels, including voice and SMS.

Watch for: The $0.90 rate needs the Scale plan and its $5,100 monthly platform fee, which applies before the first resolution.

6

Gorgias

$0.90/automated interaction Billed only when the AI resolves a conversation. Annual billing (Basic and Pro); monthly billing $1.00

Shopify brands that want AI resolutions bundled into the help desk plan

Gorgias sells its AI Agent per automated interaction, meaning a conversation the AI resolves on its own, at $1.00 on monthly billing and $0.90 on annual billing for Basic and Pro. Because it bills only resolved conversations, it ranks in the per-resolved-conversation group, joint 3rd with Lorikeet at the annual rate. Plans include 30 (Starter and Basic), 190 (Pro) or 530 (Advanced) automated interactions a month. Gorgias states that it powers customer conversations for 40% of Shopify brands, and it counts six native channels, including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. It holds 4.6 on G2 from 582 reviews.

Watch for: Gorgias publishes no overage rate for interactions past the plan allotment, so a bill above the allotment cannot be worked out in advance.

7

Intercom

$0.99/outcome

chat-first teams that want the AI agent and the help desk from one vendor

Intercom's Fin AI Agent costs $0.99 per outcome, at most one outcome per conversation, a price it shares with eDesk and with Lorikeet's Start plan. A billable outcome is a resolution, a procedure handoff, a disqualification or a self-serve routing; nothing is charged when Fin cannot answer or the customer asks for a human. Fin runs on any Intercom plan, or on another help desk with no Intercom seats and a minimum of 50 outcomes a month. At 2,000 outcomes a month the bill is $1,980. Fin Voice costs $1.99 per outcome through sales and lists 30 languages.

Watch for: Handoffs and routings bill at the same $0.99 as resolutions, and sales qualification outcomes cost $9.99 each.

8

Jira Service Management

$1.00/AI agent resolution

Atlassian customers adding an AI agent to a service desk

Jira Service Management's customer service AI agent costs $1.00 per resolution, with no included allowance and no minimum. A resolution counts when the agent handles an inquiry from question to confirmed resolution without escalating to a human, assessed once the conversation has been inactive for 24 hours. It is available on Service Collection Standard, Premium and Enterprise, bought pay as you go, in prepaid packs or in annual committed packs. At 2,000 resolutions a month the bill is $2,000.

Watch for: The AI agent is not listed on the Free plan, and Jira Service Management counts four native channels, with no channel credit for voice or messaging apps.

9

Zendesk

$1.50/automated resolution Committed rate (100+ bought ahead); pay-as-you-go $2.00; 5-10 resolutions included per agent per month

large teams that want AI resolutions inside a nine-channel help desk

Zendesk charges $1.50 per automated resolution on committed volume, with 100 or more bought ahead, and $2.00 pay as you go. Suite Team and Support Team include 5 automated resolutions per agent a month and Suite Professional 10, capped at 10,000 a year. A resolution is a request the AI agent resolves without escalation, checked when the conversation ends and counted once per conversation. At 2,000 resolutions a month the committed rate comes to $3,000 before the included allowance. Zendesk lists 80 or more languages for its AI agents and counts nine native channels.

Watch for: Since 18 May 2026 Zendesk sorts resolutions into tiers whose prices are not public; the published rate is still one price per automated resolution.

Ada

No published price

enterprises that need one AI agent across messaging, email and voice

Not ranked on AI price per outcome: Ada publishes no price, and its pricing page is a demo request. It counts eight native channels, the most of the three AI-native vendors here: email, live chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and the in-app SDK. Ada lists 60 languages on its messaging and email pages and 42 on its voice page. It states that more than 350 global enterprises use it, and it has raised more than $200M.

Watch for: The language count changes by channel, 60 for messaging and email against 42 for voice.

Decagon

No published price

enterprise CX teams in finance, travel and retail that buy on a custom contract

Not ranked on AI price per outcome: Decagon publishes no price. It describes resolution-based pricing in general terms, with no figure and no definition of a billable resolution. Decagon counts six native channels (email, live chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp and the in-app SDK) and lists 70 or more languages. Founded in August 2023, it holds 4.8 on G2 from 29 reviews.

Watch for: With no published price or unit definition, a Decagon bill can only be compared after a quote.

Sierra

No published price

large consumer brands that want outcome-based pricing negotiated up front

Not ranked on AI price per outcome: Sierra states that 'you pay only when the software achieves specific, valuable outcomes' but publishes no price and no definition of a billable outcome. It counts six native channels (email, live chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp and the in-app SDK). Sierra lists 59 languages across voice, chat, email and WhatsApp in one place and 58 in another. It states that 40% of the Fortune 50 partner with it, and it holds 4.5 on G2 from 131 reviews.

Watch for: The billable outcome has no public definition, so there is nothing to set against Intercom's or Zendesk's published units.

The bill at 2,000 AI resolutions a month

VendorUnitPriceMonthly bill at 2,000
HubSpotresolution$0.50$1,000
Help Scoutresolution$0.75$1,500
Intercomoutcome$0.99$1,980
Jira Service ManagementAI agent resolution$1.00$2,000
Zendeskautomated resolution (committed)$1.50$3,000
Salesforce Agentforceconversation$2.00$4,000

Each bill covers the AI line alone, before included allowances and before seats. For the per-resolution and per-outcome vendors it is an upper bound, since a conversation is charged once at most. Lorikeet, Gorgias and Freshdesk have no bill here: Lorikeet adds a monthly platform fee, Gorgias publishes no overage rate, and Freshdesk bills sessions, which do not map to conversations one to one. Seats come on top for every helpdesk vendor, and the seat-cost leaderboard ranks those separately.

What a resolution means at each vendor

The same word covers different events. HubSpot counts a resolution when a conversation is not handed to a human for 72 hours. Jira Service Management waits for 24 hours of inactivity. Help Scout drops the charge if the customer searches the knowledge base or asks for more help. Intercom bills procedure handoffs and routings as outcomes alongside resolutions. Those differences change what a $0.99 or a $0.50 buys, and the resolution rate guide works through them. Claimed resolution rates are not ranked anywhere on this site, for the reasons set out in the customer service metrics guide.

Picking by team

  • Already on HubSpot CRM: the customer agent at $0.50, once the team is on Professional.
  • Email-led small teams: Help Scout’s AI Answers on any paid plan. The AI help desk software list ranks the helpdesks that sell AI this way.
  • Chat-first software companies: Intercom’s Fin, on Intercom or on another help desk. The Intercom alternatives list ranks the options around it.
  • Atlassian service desks: Jira Service Management at $1.00, with no minimum.
  • Large multichannel teams: Zendesk, compared head to head in Zendesk vs Intercom.
  • Enterprise buyers on custom contracts: Ada, Decagon or Sierra, each priced only by quote.

The short answer

HubSpot has the lowest published AI price at $0.50 per resolution, with Help Scout 2nd at $0.75. Intercom at $0.99 is the pick for chat-first teams that want Fin on any help desk, and Zendesk at $1.50 is the pick when the AI has to sit inside the widest channel set on this list. For the seat side of the same purchase, the help desk software ranking orders the platforms by what 25 agents cost a year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI customer service software?

On published price, HubSpot's customer agent is the best AI customer service software at $0.50 per resolution, though it needs Service Hub Professional or Enterprise. Help Scout's AI Answers at $0.75 suits email-led teams on any paid plan, Intercom's Fin at $0.99 suits chat-first teams, and Zendesk at $1.50 suits large teams that want nine native channels.

How much does an AI customer service agent cost per resolution?

Among the published per-resolution prices, HubSpot charges $0.50, Help Scout $0.75, Lorikeet $0.90 on Scale and $0.99 on Start, Intercom and eDesk $0.99, Jira Service Management $1.00 and Zendesk $1.50 on committed volume. Lorikeet adds a platform fee of $5,100 a month on Scale or $2,100 on Start.

Why are Sierra, Decagon and Ada not ranked?

None of them publishes an AI price. Sierra says customers pay for outcomes but gives no price or outcome definition, Decagon describes resolution-based pricing without a figure, and Ada's pricing page is a demo request. A vendor without a published price is never shown as zero.

Is a session the same as a resolution?

No. Freshdesk bills a Freddy AI Agent session, a 24-hour chat window or 72-hour email window, whether or not the AI resolves anything. A resolution is charged only when the AI resolves the conversation, so the two prices are ranked in separate groups.

Do vendors publish their AI resolution rates?

Tidio's quote-only Premium plan guarantees a 50% resolution rate as a contract term. Queue Bench does not rank claimed resolution rates, because each vendor defines a resolution differently and the figure lives in each customer's own data.
